It was amazing to see the commitment of the hospital priest when she was actively involved in praying for people to salvation and healing. Over 50 people invited Jesus into their hearts at this hospital. Pastor Leonid Filimonov handed out Christmas gifts from the ward to patients. The patients were very grateful and happy for this.

The Christmas game had a clear proclamation of the gospel. Asbjørn Skjortnes held an appeal after the Christmas play and Christmas songs. Together, in the two schools, there were about 70 parents who said yes to Jesus as their savior.

Sunday Service in Jurmala Evangelical Church.

Asbjørn preached from the 2nd chapter of Luke about the angel who appeared to the shepherds in the fields of Bethlehem. The message from the angel to the shepherds was that the gospel is a great joy to all people. The focus of the preaching was that the gospel is not just for especially religious people, but that the gospel is given to the whole world. All people can share in the joy of what Jesus did when he came to earth as our Savior. Although this was a Sunday morning meeting with teaching for the church, still 5 people were gloriously saved.

Many testified of healings in the meetings.

In all the meetings, both in Dobele, Kalnciems and Jurmala people testified of healings. Many people with pain in the back and legs testified of healing. A man told me that all the back pain disappeared after prayer. Too short legs grew out.
A woman with bad eyesight told that she could see clearly and read her bible after prayer.
Two young girls testified that their short legs grew out and the back pain disappeared after prayer. A young boy testified that he had had to stop playing football as a result of his back pain, the boy was completely healed after prayer. All the pain had disappeared.
One man testified that his hearing was restored after prayer and he heard every word clearly. God’s mercy and grace was revealed to the sick and the churches were strengthened in the faith.
